Mixed Tour south of Sydney with some wonderful coastal views and bushland.
From Helensburgh Railway station follow the road over the rail line to the locked gate at the entrance to the Garrawarra Recreation Park. A mixture of bush trails and closed roads through the Garrawarra State Recreation Park and back along the old hwy.
Left at Symbio Wildlife Park and past Stanwell Tops to Bald Hill with wonderful views south over Stanwell Park and Seacliff Bridge. Down into the village of Otford before the steep climb (walk for most) up and cruise to the historic town of Helensburgh. Through picturesque Helensburgh to Helensburgh station and over the rail line to enter the Park.
On a weekend instead of going left down Otford road keep heading north til you get to the Otford Pie shop for a bite then left at the shop to run down to Otford. There are plenty of facilities at Helensburgh also.
Haven't done this one yet, just sketched it on the map so it may be a little longer in reality. I will update it as soon as I have done it. I have stayed on a track for a few extra kms parallel to the old Hwy for a bit more time in the bush. The choice can be made where Illawarra Rd meets the Princes Highway.
Helensburgh Railway Station or Otford Railway Station or from the freeway onto the old highway after leaving Waterfall or through the National Park.
