Sighseeing in Lausanne
We started at the train station which welcomes you in Lausanne with a big banner saying "Lausanne capital olympique" because Lausanne hosts the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
We were taking the driverless Metro (M2) up to the city center (station Lausanne-Flon) where we saw the breathtaking bridge across the square.
Continuing up to the cathedral (Lausannes main sight) we passed cathedral St-François and the highest bridge in Lausanne.
On top of the hill were the cathedral is located we had a great view on Lausanne at night. Furthermore on this hill there's the museum of the city of Lausanne as well as the cantonal government of Canton de Vaud.
Downhill again across the highest bridge we walked to a nice park beneath the "Tribunal fédéral" the supreme court of Switzerland which dominates the area with a magnificent monumental building worth housing such an important institution.
On our way back to the train station we had dinner at the restaurant "L'Ètoile blanche" where you have to try one of their burgers! They are delicious, not really expensive (for swiss standards
) and greatly presented on a wooden board.
