A short blast from the village of Bonsall taking in the canal at Cromford and small part of the High Peak Trail
This track has some very fast downhill on road and off road. It is a lot of fun in a very short amount of time.
The going is fun on the downhill and hard on the up hill. All in all it is worth trying out if in the area with nit much time and if time is on your side you could take in more of the High Peak trail and have a lot of fun a long the way with only a few minor detours. Hopefully this will get the imagination going and encourage to get the map out and get the bike out.
The GPS has got confused on this route as a large part is through the trees. For clarity just after the stone house on the hill after the high Peak Junction at Cromford (a good way up the hill) there is left turn that loops round under the path and down a rocky path past a donkey sanctuary.
Off the A6 head towards Matlock and then take the turning for Bonsall. The route I did starts and ends at the village cross next to the Kings Head Pub.
